Research in action: new video capturing sloshing experiment!

Submitted by admin on Tue, 04/05/2022 - 10:05

Watch the new SLOWD video that was created by University of Bristol about the fuel sloshing effects experienced in-flight. The experiment is replicating a scaled wing structure with representative 70% full fuel tanks being deflected and then released. The resulting measured fluid and structural motions are used to gain understanding of the physics involved in such fluid-structure interactions and to provide validation test cases for the computational models that have been developed in SLOWD.
